OM MOTFORESTILLINGER (MOFO)

Motforestillinger drives av Marius Kolbenstvedt og Vibeke Harper, og er et prosjekt som utforsker møtepunktene mellom aktivisme og kunst.
De samarbeider med kunstnere som stiller spørsmål ved og tar avstand fra den sionistiske ideologien og dets maktapparat, militære regelverk og okkupasjonen av Palestina.

Motforestillinger støtter BDS-bevegelsen i sitt krav om internasjonal boikott av Israel.
Motforestillinger-festivalen ble arrangert første gang i januar 2015, som en reaksjon på det norske Nationaltheatrets deltagelse i prosjektet “Terrorisms”, hvor også det israelske nasjonalteateret, Habima, deltok. Habima viser sine forestillinger også i ulovlige bosettinger på den okkuperte Vestbredden.

I 2018 inngikk vi et samarbeid med HUMAN internasjonale dokumentarfilmfestival, og ble en plattform for å feire mangfold, motstand og solidaritet, og løftet frem kunstens aktivistiske og medmenneskelige potensial.
I 2023 transformerte vi nok en gang, og er nå et kunstprosjekt som utforsker møtepunktene mellom kunst og aktivisme. Vi undersøker ulike aspekter ved apartheid, undertrykkelse og okkupasjon. Hva kan vi – som kunstnere, enkeltmennesker og samfunn – bidra med for å komme nærmere rettferdighet og en varig løsning for folk i Palestina/Israel?

Motforestillinger (counterACT) is run by Marius Kolbenstvedt and Vibeke Harper, and is a platform for art against occupation, as well as for artists who through their work questions and criticise the Zionist ideology and government, its military policies, and the occupation of Palestine.
Motforestillinger supports the BDS-movement and their call for an international boycot of Israel.

The festival was held for the first time in January 2015, as a response to the Norwegian National Theatre’s participation in the project “Terrorisms”, where the Israeli National Theatre, Habima, also participated. Habima performs regularly in illegal settlements in the West Bank.

Motforestillinger celebrates diversity, resistance and solidarity, and the humanistic and activistic potential in art.
We explore the different aspects of apartheid, oppression and occupation: What can we – artists, individuals and civil society – contribute with, in the struggle for justice and a lasting solution for people in Palestine/Israel?
